A forth­right woman of sol­id aris­to­crat­ic stock, wear­ing a heavy leath­er coat and often bran­dish­ing a pair of heavy pistols.

Biography

Ant­o­nia DeVore was the only issue of a declin­ing Scot­tish baroni­al fam­ily. Orphaned while still in her minor­ity, she lost con­trol of the man­or while clear­ing up her father­’s debts and spent much of her form­at­ive years at board­ing school. She developed a strong interest in medi­ci­ine and developed an auda­cious plan to become a doc­tor (a role not open to women). With the aid of a sym­path­et­ic rel­at­ive, she dis­guised her­self as a man and, get­ting her­self into the good graces of a Free­ma­son’s Lodge, she entered Guy’s Hos­pit­al in order to train.

Unfor­tu­nately, after a couple of years, a series of odd events occurred in the mor­tu­ary while she was around and dur­ing the invest­ig­a­tion into the bru­tal injur­ies a num­ber of the corpses had received, the truth about her iden­tity came out. Ejec­ted from the hos­pit­al and pur­sued by embar­rassed Free­ma­sons, she found sanc­tu­ary with the Min­istry, who found her unique com­bin­a­tion of med­ic­al know­ledge and huntin’, shoot­in’ and fish­in’ of par­tic­u­lar use.
